L'industrie Pizzeria
From left to right: Ordering our Pizza at L’industrie; the tasty looking slices; my Burrata slice; L’industrie’s wonderful gelato, complete with olive oil and sea salt.
After practicing on the electronic piano in my apartment this morning, I headed over to Mr. Cosmo’s apartment. There, I enjoyed his delicious, authentic espresso and practiced on his piano, focusing primarily on Liszt’s Réminiscences de Norma. As I practice, I occasionally listen again to arias performed by Maria Callas or Joan Sutherland, constantly searching each day for ways to improve my interpretations.
After my practice session, I set out for a specific café with a mission in mind: to eat a pączek (pronounced poon-chek), Poland's traditional fried doughnuts, in order to savor the rose jam filling and spend a little time reflecting on Chopin. The place I headed to was a café in the West Village called Charlotte Patisserie.

Unfortunately, by the time I arrived that day’s batch of pączki (pownch-kee) was sold out, so my quest for a pączek had to be put on hold for the time being.
It was then that I turned my attention to pizza, and the shop that holds the number one spot in New York City pizza rankings, L'industrie Pizzeria.
Once there I ordered the "Burrata," while my mother chose the "Pesto Hello." This shop is actually just as famous for its gelato as for its pizza, so for dessert I chose a mix of pistachio gelato and cantaloupe sorbet. To make the gelato even more special, they top it off with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of rock salt!
So, everyone! Check your freezer right now—if you have any ice cream inside, you simply must try sprinkling some extra-virgin olive oil and salt over it for a real flavor explosion!
After refueling with such delicious food, it was time to get back to practicing.
