Tickets for Carnegie Hall Are Now On Sale!
The tickets for my Carnegie Hall concert went on sale yesterday, and I could not be more excited. Somehow an event that in the beginning was a year and a half away will now take place in less than three months, and all I can think about is how grateful I am to have this opportunity.
I also keep thinking about a quote attributed to Goethe, which Mr. Alexander once shared with me, and I believe in now more than ever:
Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back—concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.
I have always dreamed of having a career as a concert artist. What I did not know was how to go about making it happen. I could not have imagined that I would win the Bradshaw & Buono International Competition, and that Cosmo Buono would take me on as a student. I could not have known that by doing that I would have an incredible number of opportunities to study and perform in New York over what is now almost seven years.
I could also not have known that there would be enough people, aside from my parents, who would see in me the potential for making this dream a reality, and would help me along the way. Nor could I have imagined that an organization like the Alexander & Buono Foundation would have the tools necessary to help bring such an amazing amount of visibility and awareness to my career efforts through social media and public relations.
I could not have imagined that my website, which less than a year ago had fewer than 20 visitors a month, would blossom into a website where now the total number of monthly visitors is almost 20,000!
I could not have known that I would also be wearing gowns made by a world-famous designer created especially for me for the concert.
What I did know however—and still know—is that I am committed. Committed to making this dream come true, and committed to working as hard as I can to make it happen. As Goethe said, I have begun, and all sorts of things have occurred to help me that would never have otherwise occurred.
As such then, I am more grateful than I can express.
