My First Week in New York: The Museum of Natural History (April 16, 2025)

MY FIRST WEEK IN NEW YORK

Although I have only been in New York for just a few days, I have been doing many, many wonderful things. Between lessons, concert preparations, and going around the City to see both new places and sights I have seen on previous visits, I am learning more and more every day, and I am happy to share some of my many wonderful experiences with you.

The Museum of Natural History (April 16, 2025)

My thanks go out to Renate Khambatta and her granddaughter Alia for inviting me to return to the Museum of Natural History for a visit this week.  Not having been there for more than three years, it was wonderful refreshing my memory of some of the many exhibits, as well as hearing Ms. Khabatta share her vast knowledge as a former Museum guide and docent.

As always, I work to connect my understanding of anything new to my own music, and it was especially interesting to see musical instruments there from all around the world, particularly in the Hall of African Peoples.  I had a truly enjoyable afternoon.
