Loving Opera and Shopping at Bloomingdale’s (April 27, 2025)

Having worked on some of the Liszt transcriptions today in  preparation for my concert on June 6, 2025, I realized again how  much I truly love opera. I look forward to taking in more  performances at the Metropolitan.

I don't know if it's true, but I heard that Saint-Saëns learned  rubato from Pauline Viardot, Chopin's favorite opera singer. I am  very excited to think that I will also be able to learn a lot from  working with opera singers. I am really grateful to have the opportunity, as I feel it is going to add another dimension to my  musicianship.

Today's special event outside of the lesson was shopping at Bloomingdale's. I got a baby pink dress! It's the color of the dress I've always wanted. And it seems to be made of a fabric that doesn't wrinkle easily, which means it will also pack very well. If I can adjust the shoulder length a little, I can wear it during my stay in New York.
