Learning More About Pasta, in All Its Shapes and Forms (May 5, 2025)

I just finished dinner, and ate a recipe from Mr. Cosmo's mother!!

It's a pasta called stelle. These cute little star-shaped pasta are part of a nostalgic soup his mother used to make for him as a child when he was sick. The ingredients are butter, eggs, and cheese. My mother made it with vegetable broth and added black pepper after tasting it, but I think it would also go well with chicken broth.

It's a very small pasta, very chewy, and of course it's star-shaped and cute, and very nutritious. I was full of energy today, but now I feel even more energetic!

The reason I was able to get this cute pasta is because Mr. Cosmo took us shopping with him to New Jersey to the Maywood Market. My mother is determined to discover as many kinds of pasta as possible during our stay, so she headed straight for the pasta section.

Besides stelle, we also got long ziti, a type of pasta that resembles a thick straw for drinking bubble tea. Of course, my mother also bought tagliatelle pasta, which is very popular in Japan, so that she would be okay if she failed to cook these uncooked pastas.

This is my second visit to this supermarket, and I knew that this is also a hidden cheese mecca, so we also bought good quality Dutch Gouda, Spanish sheep cheese, and English cheese with apricots.

This Friday, May 9, 2025, is my recital at Faust Harrison Pianos. We will make delicious dishes with these wonderful ingredients and have an advance celebration! It is a concept that has continued in Japan from ancient times to the present, that by rejoicing and celebrating future success and happiness in advance, you can attract a wonderful reality. Americans also raise their glasses and toast with smiles at every meal, and it is a similar custom.

So, the pre-celebration started today, and I am attaching a photo of the fun interaction with a cute cat who participated in it. It is Mrs. Khambatta’s cat, Plato. Today, as always, Mrs. Khambatta is a very powerful, intelligent, and truly kind woman.
