My First Week in New York: Good Friday in New York (April 18, 2025)

MY FIRST WEEK IN NEW YORK

Although I have only been in New York for just a few days, I have been doing many, many wonderful things. Between lessons, concert preparations, and going around the City to see both new places and sights I have seen on previous visits, I am learning more and more every day, and I am happy to share some of my many wonderful experiences with you.

Good Friday in New York (April 18, 2025)

On Good Friday, the Friday before Easter in the Christian Calendar, I experienced it the way a real New Yorker would. First of all, I went to my lesson with Mr. Buono, and we worked on the Mozart Piano Sonata No. 13, K,333, in B major, one of the pieces I am going to be performing on Friday, May 9, 2025 in a private recital at Faust Harrison Pianos.  I have been studying the piece for some time now, and it is in its final stages, but I enjoyed very much the discussion of some small style changes that are more in line with Mozart. I very much like having these talks with Mr. Buono, who carefully and attentively listens to my ideas, while also helping to show me how to express them through the music.

Following that, I went shopping with my mother at Columbus Circle, which is near Central Park and Lincoln Center.  Everything was decorated for Easter and looked beautiful.  I almost felt like a flower myself because of my green coat and pink dress!  We shopped at Whole Foods, a wonderful grocery store, and took photos at the photo booth in Time Warner Center.

A really, really good, Good Friday.
