A Wonderful Night! (May 10, 2025)
I am very happy with last night’s concert.
The piano, a Bösendorfer, was beautifully maintained and sang out every time I put my fingers on the keys. It is clear the staff at Faust Harrison are the best of professionals.
I write a lot on my blog about playing without fear, and last night I feel as though I truly did that.
Dmitri Shelest, a truly great pianist whom I very much admire, shared his impressions with me and said: "Many performers just play to please the audience, but you served the audience, and the audience appreciated you. I hope you stay that way." I was very honored.
I'm just full of gratitude! I never imagined that I would be on such a wonderful career path when I was only 11 years old! I won the Bradshaw & Buono Piano Competition and came to New York for the first time. I was just a little girl who was simply amazed to see the scale of things. I clearly remember that the excitement I felt in New York was much greater than the excitement I felt in Europe…Vienna, Paris, Budapest....
I can't believe that that 11-year-old girl will finally make her solo debut at Carnegie Hall next year! After taking classes from Mr. Cosmo and Mr. Alexander, accumulating each and every concert they gave me, seven years later I am so much farther along in my career than I ever thought I could be! Once again, I am filled with gratitude!
