A City Full of Music (June 17, 2025)

From left to right: Aigul Akhmetshina; Jack Swanson, and Andrey Zhilikhovsky

I continue to be amazed at just how many musical events there are in New York every day. No matter what your taste there are always dozens of choices, so many in fact that it can be hard to decide what to attend.

Just by way of example, a few weeks ago I went to the Metropolitan Opera to see Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia which featured performances by Aigul Akhmetshina as Rosina, Jack Swanson as the Count Almaviva, and Andrey Zhilikhovsky as Figaro. The costumes and scenery were truly wonderful, and it was also very nice to see such splendid acting. I truly enjoyed it.

Clips from the performance are available by clicking on the pictures above. Enjoy!

Tomorrow I will share information about my going to Carnegie Hall to hear the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

See you then!
