Celebrating Anna Shelest

Today I would like to take the time to congratulate truly great pianist, Anna Shelest. Ms. Shelest is a graduate of The Juilliard School and has been a true champion of the piano throughout her entire life.  She has a distinguished career that not only includes recordings of solo and orchestral performances, but one that has also given us several CDs, three of which are specifically devoted to works by women composers, among them Mel Bonis, Cécile Chaminade, Fanny Mendelssohn, and Clara Schumann.  I have learned a great deal by listening to Ms. Shelest and studying her technique.

I am also pleased to announce that her CD entitled Donna Voce 3 is being submitted by her record label for consideration to the Grammy Awards. It is an honor which she deserves not only because of her musical talent, but also because of the immense scholarship she has demonstrated in terms of bringing music before a broader public that has too often been left unexplored and unappreciated.

I am honored to share the roster of ABF Artists with her, and continue to wish her every success.  She is doing so much to pave the way for pianists like myself as she continues to demonstrate a talent and career that is an inspiration to us all.
